Hasanov Ilyas Shahsuvar oglu was born on March 8, 1982 in Baku. In 1988-1998, after graduating from secondary school No. 249 of Baku city, he entered the 1st treatment-prophylaxis faculty of Azerbaijan Medical University in the same year. In 2004, he graduated from the surgery department of that faculty. In 2004-2006, he completed residency in radiology at the Central X-ray-Radiology Institute located in St. Petersburg, Russia, and in 2006-2008 in X-ray surgery. In 2008-2009, he studied Interventional Radiology, especially Interventional Neuro-Radiology Specialty in the Esclepios Clinical Altona in Hamburg (Germany).
During this period, he specialized in the interventional treatment of pathologies in the vessels of the brain - aneurysm, arterio-venous malformation, arterio-venous fistula, vascular narrowings, vascular blockages. In 2009-2010, he completed long-term courses in invasive radiology at the hospital of Başkent University, Medical Park hospitals located in Istanbul. In 2010, he completed a course on invasive interventions in venous vessels under Professor Paola Zamboni at the Center for Vascular Diseases in Ferrara, Italy. It should be noted that Paola Zamboni is the first doctor in the world to apply Balloon Angioplasty and stent implantation of venous vessels during CCSVI, which is considered a new treatment for Multiple Sclerosis, which is very common and the treatment of which is still not completely clear.
On November 24, 2010, he defended his PhD candidate's thesis on the treatment of metastatic tumors of the liver by invasive methods and received the title of doctor of philosophy in medical sciences. Many scientific articles have been published in local and foreign journals.
Azerbaijan's first invasive radiologist Dr. Ilyas Hasanov started his professional activity as an invasive radiologist at the Central Customs Hospital in 2009-2012. During the years 2009-2013, he was the General Manager and a member of the Board of Directors of Eurasia Clinic.
From 2013 to 2015, he worked as the chief physician of Medistyle Hospital. In 2015-2016, he worked as the head doctor of Eurasia Hospital. During 2016-2018, he worked as a director at Ganja International Hospital. In the following years (2018-2019), he worked as a director at "Synergy Group" LLC.
In 2019-2020, he was the chief physician of Medistyle Hospital, and in 2020-2021, he was the deputy chief physician of the Ministry of Health Modular Hospital. In 2021-2022, he worked as a director at Medistyle Hospital. In 2022-2023, he worked as an Invasive Radiologist at Olimp Hospital.
He is currently working as an Invasive Radiologist at Zafaran Hospital.
Ilyas Hasanov is married and has two children. Since he is a doctor devoted to his profession, he has very little time for rest, Ilyas Hasanov prefers to spend this time with his family and his hobbies are skiing and hunting. He is fluent in English, Russian and Turkish languages.
